Simon’s Allotment

Fresh local produce is a key ingredient for all of our home cooked dishes, and with this in mind Simon took on the task of setting up our own produce garden. Thanks to the generosity of Justin Orchard-Lisle, who very kindly allowed the fledgling project to be set up on 1000m2 of his land at Alma Farm, Highclere. An allotment of this size was no mean feat for our novice gardener!

Over time, Simon has added a poly tunnel and set up his own composting bins, enabling us to recycle much of the food waste from the kitchen. Now, four years down the track and after many hours of toiling on the land we are enjoying the fruits of Simon’s labour.
